Isahaya Park is located in a city of the same name, near Nagasaki on Kyushu Island. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century over the ruins of the Isahaya Castle. The park holds an azalea festival each year, but those flowers were unfortunately not in bloom during this visit in March. However other attractions made the visit worthwhile, not the least being a very, very old tree at the top of the park. The park is also famous for its ‘Meganebashi’ (Spectacles) Bridge over a pond.
